I had a lot of fun tonight on 20 meters for a few hours and got a good amount of stations reporting back on my CQ call. Propagation was good in terms of short-skip and contacts were made with stations from Russia, Ukraine, Spain, Romania, Bulgaria, Italy, and Bosnia. My new IC-7600 is performing very well and I get a lot of “very good audio” reports. Yesterday I had a nice QSO with Laila HZ1HZ in Saudi Arabia and it is alway fun to have a little chat with this young lady. Tomorrow night I will be operating from my club PI4ZHE and hopefully we will make some nice DX contacts from our 100 foot tower equipped with 3 element beam using my good old Kenwood TS-870S.

DXCC #112: Tunisia
A nice QSO with Radio Club Station Of Tunisian Scouts 3V8SS on 20 meters has put another new country on my list.
DXCC #110: China / DXCC #111: Mongolia
10 meters propagation was exceptional this morning (despite solar/terrestrial data predictions being “poor”) so I put my 7600 to the test, punching through a couple of pile-ups with relative ease. I used my converted HyGain P-500 vertical (1980 new old stock, € 50 on a ham fair) the entire morning and worked with Changchun PG9HKP from China, Perenley JT1PB from Mongolia as well as Fuji JA8DCR from Japan, the latter responding to my own CQ DX call. I heard several European stations echoing over both short and long path , thanks Ionosphere.
DXCC #109: Thailand
The pretty good evening conditions on 20 meters today put another new country on my list. Received a nice 5/9 over the 9.260km long path from Greg HS0ZLE in Bangkok, Thailand. Wonderful.
DXCC #108: Rodriguez Island
After a pretty exhaustive but succesful PACC contesting weekend at my club, I gave my new IC-7600 a try on 20 and 10m. I got lots of nice reports and compliments about my audio and managed to contact 3B9FR on 10 meters adding Rodriguez Island (near Madagascar) to my DXCC list.
