Quite a lovely day yesterday with lots of sunshine. When I walked out of my home in the afternoon I was approached by 2 guys that were looking at my antenna tower. “Amateur radio, sir?”. He showed me the callsign badge on his shirt. I intruced myself and the French hams insisted to make a picture of us together with the hexbeam tower in the background. True ham spirit! Unfortunately I forgot to write down their callsigns. When I walked back they were already gone. Hopefully they will send me a copy of the picture. After midnight I made a some contacts on 20 meters. Propagation to the Carribean was excellent and my QSO with Edwin HI3K from the Dominican Republic added another worked country to my list!
A lot of activity on 20m late last night, really unusual propagation after midnight local time, booming signals all over the band. Worked several stations from USA, Azores, England, Sardinia, Spain, Argentina, Russia, Aruba, Portugal, Iceland, Australia plus two new DXCC’s! Had a nice QSO with Bart PJ2BB from Curacao Island, and Jose HP8JAA from Panama was country #116 in my log.
Quite a nice afternoon and evening on 20 meters today. Had some fun with friends, had several very nice contacts in Europe, North and South America an a QSO with Walaa E41WT added a new country to my list.
QSO with Boris EK3GM on 20m this morning added another DXCC to my list.
First new DXCC in the new year by QSO on 10 meters with Shuravi T6T from Kabul, Afghanistan. Happy New Year and good DX everyone!
